The Terms for each role is only 1 year. President and VP are required to attend ISOC 4 days a week, while other positions it's 3 days minimum (including Wednesday committee meetings and Jumu’ah). It is up to the committee to sort out a rota and decide who attends on which specific days.
Here is an overview of the position vacancies, requirements and how to apply for each role:
President : Yr11/12 + 1 Year’s committee experience
Vice President : Yr11/12
Events Director : Yr10/11/12
Events Officer : Yr7/8/9
Publicity Director : Yr10/11/12
Publicity Officer : Yr7/8/9
Secretary : Yr9/10/11/12
All positions require a 3-minute video speech that you’ll send to me by WhatsApp by the respective deadlines for each role.

The New Committee will conduct elections for the Prefects in the summer at a more suitable time In Sha Allah. Current Prefects can still apply for committee.
Shortlisting will be done by Ahmad, Saifullah, Mansoor and a select few trusted Year 13s. No one else will be involved in the election process.
President: It is essential that the committee is always viewed as a team, and the President is the leader of that team. The responsibilities include: being the face of the society, ensuring the outlined aims and objectives of the society are being met, ensuring the continual development of the society, overseeing and managing the committee, catering for the welfare of the committee (with the help of Ex-officios) and leading weekly committee meetings as well as organising the Summer planning committee meeting. The President should also be speaking to the Senior Leadership Team of the school regularly and resolve any issues with the help of the Vice President.
Vice President: Responsible for the Finances of the ISOC and what the collections are for each Jumu’ah. The VP is acting president when the president is absent from the ISOC for whatever reason. The VP and President should therefore work very closely together to ensure efficient running of the ISOC, and should be aware of each other’s plans and steps to improve the ISOC. They should work together and critique each other to be able to constantly improve the ISOC. The VP and President should divide major tasks such as leading organisation for the Charity Week Dinner and UTC Food Sale.
Secretary: Organising weekly meetings, the Khutbah rota, making notes during committee meetings and sharing these with committee members afterwards. The secretary is also responsible for writing termly reports to upload to the ISOC website. They must write articles for the publications end of year magazine, Headmaster’s Newsletter and write articles after every major event in the year (Football Tournaments, Charity Week Dinner, UTC Food Sale etc). They are also responsible for organising a Welcome Assembly for the new Year 7’s introducing them to the ISOC, how they can get involved and what the purpose of the ISOC is. It is the secretary’s responsibility to maintain and update the notice board in D5 and monitor the ISOC Hotmail regularly.
Events Director: Work in cooperation with the Events Officer and delegate appropriate tasks to teach them and help them gain experience. The Events Director is responsible for organising regular guest speaker talks by external speakers and general daily activities and competitions. The Director will oversee all activities and ensure they run regularly.
Events Officer: Work in cooperation with the Events Director. It is the Events Officer’s responsibility to organise the daily activity rota for D5 and ensure these are maintained throughout the year, even in busier periods such as around the UTC Food Sale. The Officer will work in co-operation with others in the committee to organise a Ramadan Programme full of interactive activities every day.
Publicity Director: Work in cooperation with the Publicity Officer and delegate appropriate tasks to teach them and help them gain experience. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the ISOC Website. They must also ensure the Daily Online Activities are run 5 days a week throughout the year, even in busy periods. The Director should constantly be looking to grow the ISOC’s online presence by sharing the pages and encouraging students, friends and family to like and share the pages as well. The aim of our social media pages is to make students, parents and external members aware of the work that the ISOC is doing…thus the greater the number of followers, the more likely you are to achieve this aim.
Publicity Officer: Work in cooperation with the Publicity Director. The Officer and Director work together to produce all posters and videos for the ISOC, and to regularly take pictures and videos of events to keep the ISOC Social Media’s active. The Officer is responsible for the Daily Reminders Chat and should create a rota for students to get involved and send regular video reminders.
